This QR and barcode scanner is intentionally designed to accommodate the needs of visually impaired users. By default, it emits a radar-like sound when the application's camera is activated, providing auditory feedback. The scanner can detect any QR code or barcode within the camera's view, and upon recognition, it automatically redirects the user to the associated webpage.
With this application, users with visual impairments can conveniently scan printed codes that are at least 2 centimeters in size and listen to their contents via VoiceOver technology. For optimal results, it is recommended to hold the device approximately 30 centimeters away from an A4-sized document. At this distance, the camera generally captures the entire page area and facilitates smooth scanning of embedded codes.
An effective scanning setup involves placing the printed material on a table with the user seated facing it. The user then lifts the phone to chin level, keeping it parallel to the surface, which allows for easy and reliable code detection.
